FLWLP Named Program First to be Designated a Total Care Program
On July 28, 2008, Auburn Memorial Hospital’s (AMH) Finger Lakes Weight Loss Program recently became the first Bariatric surgery center in the area to received the Total Care Program designation.
By becoming a Total Care Program, the Finger Lakes Weight Loss Program has shown an unwavering commitment to providing the most comprehensive LAP-BAND ® management for its patients.
Presently, Dr. Carl Weiss III, program director, has completed 9 LAP-BAND ® procedures at the Finger Lakes Weight Loss Program since March 2008. There are 29 people that will be having the surgery by the end of the year.
So far in 2008, the Finger Lakes Weight Loss Program has accepted 106 patients and since January 2006, when the program began, there have been 360 patients that have entered.
“The LAP-BAND® is a revolutionary product and procedure in Bariatric surgery,” said Dr. Weiss. “The procedure is done laproscopically, which is the least invasive type of procedure, and the LAP-BAND® is totally adjustable so the surgeon is always monitoring the patient’s progress.”
